Day 1: Bucharest

Welcome to Romania! After meeting your guide, you will be led to the minibus for a short visit in Romania's capital city. Accommodation and dinner at a 4* hotel in Bucharest.

Day 2: Multiculturalism in Bucharest

Breakfast at the hotel. We then set out on a short journey into the peaceful coexistence of Orthodox Christians, Catholics, Jews and Armenians. We will visit the Patriarchal Cathedral, St. Joseph Roman-Catholic Cathedral, the Choral Temple and the Armenian Church, all remarkable architectural monuments. Lunch in the historic city centre. Accommodation and dinner at a 4* hotel in Bucharest.

Day 3: Bucharest Adamclisi Murfatlar Constanța Eforie Nord

After a plentiful breakfast we board to Constanța (Tomis colony founded by the Greeks in the 7th century BC on the coast of Pontus Euxinus – today's Black Sea) and on the way we visit the archaeological museum and Tropaeum Traiani monument in Adamclisi, dedicated to Emperor Trajan following his victory against Dacians in 102. Did you know that Publius Ovidius Naso, the Roman poet, spent his last years exiled in Constantiana (the new name given to Tomis after the Roman conquest)? We then set out to one of the most famous vineyards in Romania, Murfatlar. Wine tasting and lunch in one of the cellars there. Departure to Constanța, spa, accommodation and dinner at a 4* hotel in Eforie Nord.

Day 4: Eforie Nord Constanța - Mangalia Saint Andrew's Cave Eforie Nord

After breakfast we take a short walking tour to explore the Greek, Roman, Slavic, Turkish, Tartar, Armenian, Jewish, Maltese or Italian influences on the city which is still the country’s largest trade harbour: Ovidiu Square, Carol I Mosque, the Transfiguration Cathedral, the Catholic Cathedral and the Archaeology Museum. We then start our trip to the second important city at the Black Sea: Mangalia (Callatis, former colony of the Greek city Heraclea Pontica in the 7th century BC). We visit the Esmahan Sultan Mosque and the navy harbour, then we take a short cruise on the sea on one of the boats in the tourist harbour. Spa, accommodation and fish dinner in Eforie Nord.

Day 5: Eforie Nord - Constanța Corbu - Babadag Slava Cercheză Slava Rusă Enisala Tulcea

A very interesting day is waiting for us! After a rich breakfast we take our seats in the minibus and start our trip to Tulcea, at the mouth of the Danube Delta, with short stops at the Turkish communities in Babadag and the Russian ones in Slava Cercheză or Slava Rusă. We arrive then at Enisala, a fortress built in the 13th-14th century by the Byzantines and the Genovese merchants, later transformed into a Turkish garrison. Accommodation and dinner at a 4* hotel in Tulcea.

Day 6: Tulcea - Sulina

Tasty breakfast at the hotel, followed by a visit to the Heroes' Monument in Tulcea with a splendid view of the city and the Danube Delta. Boarding on the ship to Sulina. We will have plenty of time to admire the delta landscape and the specific Danube Delta villages. Accommodation and dinner at a 4* hotel in Sulina.

Day: 7 Sulina

This day's programme: traditional breakfast, visit to the international cemetery in Sulina, visit to the Danube Commission, the Lighthouse in Sulina and the Orthodox Cathedral. Trip along delta channels (or Letea Forest, where we may be lucky to enjoy together the view of the last wild horses in Europe!), with a fish lunch. Accommodation and dinner at a 4* hotel in Sulina.


Day 8: Sulina Tulcea - Măcin - Greci Brăila

Good morning from the easternmost point of Romania!  After breakfast we return to Tulcea to continue our cultural experience to Măcin, Greci (a place which is famous for the large number of Italian stoneworkers who settled here), Niculițel, a viticulture station where we propose a wine tasting and then to Brăila, on the Danube bank. Accommodation and dinner at a 3* hotel in Brăila.


Day 9: Brăila Galați Brașov

After breakfast we visit the historical city centre and we stop at the Greek Church, built by the local Greek community in the 19th century, when Brăila was an important regional trade and naval centre. We then head to the nearby city Galați for a visit at the former Bishop's Palace (built in the 19th century), nowadays Museum of History, Culture and Christian Spirituality on the Lower Danube. Departure to Brașov. Accommodation and dinner at a 4* hotel in Brașov.

Day 10: Brașov Bușteni Sinaia Bucharest

Even though the evening found us on the road, it's all for the better because this morning we'll be surprised by the delightful landscape of the beautiful medieval Transylvanian city founded in the 11th century, which bears the mark of the multiculturalism brought by the Germans, Romanians and Hungarians who live here even today. After breakfast we take a short city tour and then we board in the minibus towards the 2 famous castles on Prahova Valley - Cantacuzino Castle in Bușteni and Peleș Castle in Sinaia. Lunch at the castle. We will arrive in Bucharest in the evening. Accommodation and dinner at a 4* hotel in Bucharest.

Day 11: Bucharest

Good morning! From today's programme: Parliament Palace, Primăverii Palace (the former residence of president Nicolae Ceaușescu) and free time for exploration and shopping. Accommodation and dinner at a 4* hotel in Bucharest.


Day 12: It is time to say good-bye.

Our guide will lead you to the airport and we hope you will come back for a new Romanian experience!
